The weather reports had been predicting snow for last night for days but I refused to believe it. Well, I was sure wrong to doubt! Frederick dozed most of the drive home last night and then, just as we turned onto I69 we headed into a massive wall of snow flurries, Frederick groggily turned his head to the window and said, "Dust!" in a very surprised voice. When I told him it was in fact snow, he was suddenly wide awake. Finally winter is here--which can only mean one thing: Christmas!

The ducks were not too pleased to discover their drinking tub frozen over this morning. In fact, they weren't too pleased about a lot of new things in the back yard--the absence of fat worms lolling about just under the leaves on the ground being top of the list.
