I think the first time Jami ever saw Doc Martens shoes was when she met me, and she mocked them constantly (while wearing giant white trainers (or "tennis shoes" as they're called in the US, whatever sport they may in fact be fore)). But over the years she's become a convert, and now owns more different pairs than I think I've owned in my life. She teaches face-to-face at Wayne State in Detroit once a week (for 14 weeks) so I've challenged her to wear a different pair every week. Her first pair, today, was the pair I got her for this Christmas:
